Anyway, I am following you at Recommendation Saturday. I too pray that racial differences can disappear from people's eyes and that we see each other as God sees and loves us. We can know that He does love us even if we meet others who don't. It doesn't matter as we only have to look to the One who made us and cares for us.
Blessings,
Janis www.janiscox.comJanis Coxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10863083811890899986noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-16663319.post-63596817223696986412014-01-21T12:42:04.177-05:002014-01-21T12:42:04.177-05:00Laura, if they are believers in Christ, yes, we wi...Laura, if they are believers in Christ, yes, we will see them in heaven. Really, their sin of racism is no worse than our sin. We all are sinners and fall short of the glory of God. There will be no "coping" in Heaven, because it will be perfect and there will be no more racism. What a glorious day that will be! She refers to another book by Henry Blackaby called Experiencing God. In it, he refers to the "crisis of faith": “Anytime God leads you to do something that has God-sized dimensions, you will face a crisis of belief. When you face a crisis of belief, what you do next reveals what you really believe about God.”
I love that you mentioned how MLK eschewed what could have been a comfortable middle class life in favor of suffering and ultimately dying for the freedom of his people. In this way, he also reminds me of Jesus.
I'm so sorry to hear about the racists you've encountered in the Church. I wonder if we will see them in heaven? How will they cope with what we are promised is going to be a very multicultural eternity? What's more sad to me is that those racists won't be there with us.Laura Connellhttp://lauraconnell.com/noreply@blogger.com
